Do we have a race in store for you on Saturday, March 9, 2020!
Hurricane Dorian did not do damage like Matthew in 2016 so nothing will hold us back from bringing Runners and Paddlers a spectacular event in March 2020. As many are aware, Hunting Island State Park was hit hard by Hurricane Matthew’s wrath but its trail were rebuilt and are now fun-to-run. So what’s an Adventurist to do? So glad you asked.
The March 9, 2020 race will begin at the Russ Point Boat Landing near the visitor’s center with kayaks and paddle boards paddling the waterway along Fripp Inlet +/ – 6 miles. Following the paddle, runners will be entertained by a unique 4 mile +/- run complete with challenges. “Entertained, challenges”, you may ask? Hey, we got this, just trust us. Want the actual details? Yeah, bet you do. We promise that more details will follow soon, but there will NOT be anything you can’t handle (well, probably not).
As usual, you can participate Solo, Relay (1 paddler and 1 runner), or Team (tandem kayak with both paddling AND running). There will be separate award categories for male, female, mixed, kayak, and paddle boards. We are also looking to increase our awards for age categories this year based on participation. And did I mention the fun Post-Race party with grub and libations?
