“The 9th Annual Hunting Island Adventure Biathlon was a great success” says Mike Mashke, 2013 Race Director. “The weather was perfect, which made for a superb 6 mile kayak and SUP paddle out to the Fripp Inlet and back into the lagoon” said Mashke. Racers then set foot for a 4.3 mile adventurous trail run through the pristine all natural forest on Hunting Island State Park. Over 150 athletes competed for 64 different award categories this year. With the thanks to our many sopnsors our Club raised over $10,000 for local charaties and Rotary International Projects.
17 Members and their spouses galloped to the District Convention in support of one of our own, District Governor Ed Duryea. The 2013 District 7770 Convention was well attended not only by our own SIR members but also the entire District. It was a wonderful event of fellowship, reflections, and appreciation to the hard work by the entire Rotary District. President Rion was recognized for achievement of reviving the Club Citation and Leadership Awards. Way to go Rion!!
